11/07/2010    Well what do we have here, how about a new review?

10/31/2010    A couple new acquisitions and a very small update over in Home Arcade Projects. 10/10/2010    I'm just recovering from a week of being sick.  Originally I had planned on taking care of some business here but with being ill and a strange early Autumn heat wave, that all went up in smoke.  Just the same, the lists have been updated to reflect my acquisitions over the previous month or so. 09/11/2010    Catching up on some fairly recent acquisitions.  Additionally the RTM articles archive has been updated with my California Extreme 2010 show report.  Thanks to all the staff for another incredible show, can't wait until next year! 08/07/2010    Big updates to both the Galaga Multigame and Klax sections over in the Home Arcade Projects area. 07/22/2010    The RTM articles archive has been moved from the Features section into a new section called Publications.  Publications will contain the archive of contributions written by DVGI staff for other sources.  Not much changes due to this, things are simply better organized.  Additionally the RTM articles archive has been fully updated. 07/14/2010    A new running editorial column has been created that premiers with this update. 05/29/2010    Just a quick update as two of the pages in the Home Arcade Projects section have been updated. 05/23/2010    This is an official announcement that David's Video Game Insanity Version 6.0 has been launched.  There aren't any big changes really, everything has to do with behind the scenes updates that do not effect normal browsing of the site.  Essentially the main difference is how each page is titled.  As DVGI is a site that is heavily dependent on its frames, I never intended any of the pages to be accessed away from the main index.  However, as we all know, that's not how search engines work.  Because of this nearly every page that was not part of the main index was titled "Get outta here!" - what CLU tells his Bit at the beginning of TRON after his Game Tank is disabled.  (I'm sure most browsing this site will get the reference)  Years ago I added a pair of links at the bottom of each page that acts as top index to each section.  The links provide access to the main DVGI index as well as access to the main ClassicPlastic.net index, along with some text pointing out that if the page was accessed through an external source, it is actually part of a much larger site.  Yet gaining access to the information at DVGI via a search engine, unless searching for specific terms, was still greatly hampered by the pages not having unique titles.  That's primarily what the new version addresses, every page has been given a proper title just in case they are accessed outside of the main index and their frames.  I hope it will continue to boost traffic and get the information here into the hands of the people who would like to read it.

The second change has to do with ALT and TITLE tags for mouse over text on images.  For years and years I used ALT to provide popup text when the mouse pointer is left over an image.  Of course this is an incorrect way to do things but as nearly every browser continued to support it, many of us never changed.  When a couple years ago most modern browsers finally cut away using ALT tags in that way, instead wanting the proper TITLE tag for the popup text.  I've gone through the entire site and changed all the tags on the pages where they actually matter.  I know there are still some ALT tags on the RTM archive pages but they serve no purpose so I'm not going to bother.

So that's it, if a page looks crazy odd for one reason or another, or there's a screwed up graphic somewhere - please e-mail me and let me know!  There should be an e-mail link at the bottom of almost every page or check out the contact section to the left.

05/22/2010    After many years I finally picked up yet another copy of Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo, a game I've missed playing.

05/15/2010    Playing catch up again with a bunch of games I picked up from multiple places over the course of a month.  The Atari 2600 addition was over such a span of finds that I lost track of what was new. 04/12/2010    With the acquisition of a Sega Dreamcast lot I was able to pick up a couple games I didn't already have.  Also an addition to the Colecovision list which doesn't happen very often since I rarely find games. 03/28/2010    Updates to a lot of Master List archives this time around.  I hope to finish up that secret project that has been on the main page and post it soon. 03/20/2010    A little bit of housekeeping as my most recent RTM contribution is added to the archive. 02/21/2010    After almost a year since beginning, the Klax section under Home Arcade Projects is finally up. 02/14/2010    Time to play a little bit of catch up with acquisitions with some updates to the master list that are overdue.  There have been a lot of projects going on which have severely limited the amount of time I can put into updates here but I should have some exciting stuff to show soon.  For the time being, here are those master list updates, for the most part courtesy of GameStop dropping PS2 and GBA prices. 02/10/2010    New year housekeeping as the news pages are rolled over and a 2009 Archive link is created at the bottom of each news page.
