It took a long time but after many years, Pioneer released the three Sailormoon moves on video uncut and subtitled in English.  This was huge for North American moonies and it opened up the gates for the eventual subtitled releases of the first four series as well.  People today that weren't there then can't understand what a huge thing it was for Sailormoon to finally be available uncut and subtitled.  If one event could ever be considered the single biggest victory for English speaking moonies, that was it.  I only wish Pioneer was able to release everything at the time, rather than ADV picking up the first two seasons and doing a rather lackluster job with them.

Here you will find scans and pictures of every Sailor Moon video release that I have.  Everything pictured here is an official release, so these can be used to check against the many bootlegs that are in circulation.

Personally I was only interested in the subtitled uncut releases, leaving VHS behind once DVD versions became available.  ADV decided to do separate releases of their dubs and subs while Pioneer / Genon took the high road and included them both on the same discs for their releases.  None of the specials were part of these releases.

Everyone continues to hold out hope for a new, unified re-release of the entire series, the movies and specials.  Pioneer did a fine job with their end of the releases however.
 

Sailormoon DVD Guide

The three movies were released by Pioneer uncut and subtitled on VHS, edited and dubbed on VHS, as well as a dub-sub hybrid on DVD.  They were later re-released as a thin pack boxset.

Sailormoon was released by ADV as a double case, eight disc, single boxset.  This uncut release was subtitled only.  ADV also released the edited dub version as seven individual DVD's under the blanket English "Sailor Moon" title.

Sailormoon R was released by ADV as a double case, eight disc, single boxset.  This uncut release was subtitled only.  Additionally this release had a myriad of problems, most notably it completely excludes episode 67.  ADV also released the edited dub version as seven individual DVD's under the blanket English "Sailor Moon" title.

Sailormoon S was released by Pioneer as six individual uncut dub-sub hybrid DVD's called the Heart Collection.  They were later re-released individually under Pioneer's new Geneon label as well as a thin pack boxset.

Sailormoon SuperS was released by Pioneer as seven individual uncut dub-sub hybrid DVD's called the Pegasus Collection.  They were later re-released individually under Pioneer's new Geneon label as well as a thin pack boxset.
